Morrigan's Cross by Nora Roberts

 

This is book one of the Circle Trilogy.

This book follows the story of  Hoyt and Glenna.

Hoyt is a sorcerer from the year 1128. Who had hos brother murdered and transformed into a vampire by Lilith the Queen of vampire's. The book starts out with a skirmish between Lilith and Hoyt. And then involves his now vampire Cian. Hoyt temporarily defeats them both. Hoyt then encounter the Celtic Goddess Morrigan. She sends him on a miss to find the Circle of Six and he is the first. He must find "the witch, the scholar, the warrior, the one of many forms, and the one you have lost" (Morrigan's Cross page 13). So she sends him to the Circle of Stone and encounters more foes along the way. He is injured and while in the Circle he encounter the second of the group the witch who helps him.

 

Glenna who is the witch and the second of the group. First encounter Hoyt when she helps him in the Circle. Little does she know that she is about to go on a dangerous journey to keep our world safe from Lilith and her army of vampires.

 

The journey for these two take them to Ireland, threw time and threw a magical portal to another world.
